AROUND THE COUNTRY HPD

AROUND THE COUNTRY HPD RELEASES BCV OF MALL SHOOTING HPD released the BCV of the officer involved shooting of the suspect who shot and killed Deputy Neil Adams. Thank You, to all First Responders. By Suzie Ziegler HOUSTON — Last month, a Texas deputy constable was fatally shot while working an off-duty security job at a Houston mall. New bodycam video released Tuesday shows the aftermath, including when responding officers shot and killed the suspect. On Feb. 23, Deputy Neil Adams, 62, was shot by a suspect who managed to grab the deputy’s gun in a struggle. Bodycam video shows Houston Police Officer Mohammed Nasser running through the mall past shops and kiosks while asking shoppers for directions. After a few minutes of chaos and confusion, Nasser finds the suspect, 35-year-old Czyz Harrison. “Drop the knife!” Nasser yells repeatedly as Harrison walks toward him. Bodycam and mall surveillance video show Harrison lunging at Nasser. Nasser and a second Houston police officer, Officer Tallal Salameh, open fire. Harrison gets up, despite being shot, and starts to walk away. An officer uses a TASER and Harrison falls to the ground again. Harrison was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead. Investigators said Harrison was holding a knife, according to the report. Last month, hundreds of people turned out to welcome home the body of San Jacinto County Pct. 1 Deputy Constable Neil Adams as he was escorted from the Harris County morgue to Pace-Stancil Funeral Home in Cleveland for burial later this week. Adams became a San Jacinto County sheriff’s deputy after graduating from the Angelina College Police Academy in 2012. He most recently was employed by SJC Pct. 1 Constable Roy Rogers as the county’s only environmental officer. Previously he worked as a 911 dispatcher for the sheriff’s office and a volunteer firefighter for Bear Creek Volunteer Fire Department. Ask me for a free insurance review. Protect more. Save more.
