For the first time, in a very long 0,000 ..what it won’t get you. time, I felt like I stood upon the line side by side with some amazing men and women. We worked together, Deputies from Pct. One and other various agencies, coupled with nurses, doctors, medics and other support personnel and we helped a LOT of people. You watch this World Crisis unfold before your very eyes, and it tugs at your heart. But, until you’re definitively immersed within the storm, you really don’t get it. I cannot tell you how many senior citizens I personally had to drive up to me after receiving their vacation and, with tears streaming down over their mask, waving, and repeatedly saying “Thank you!” I don’t care who you are, your position in life, if you’re a human being with just a shred of decency in you, a day such as today, will touch your heart. To witness the orchestrated systems of various institutions and stellar professionals all come together, for one cause, one direction, was truly both humbling and rewarding. For me, it’s been a while since I’ve seen so many tears of relief and happiness together with an overall sense of, I don’t know, normalcy, I guess. Friend, no politics here at all. I’m simply saying, what I personally witnessed today was, the uncanny miracle of people from all walks of life, religions and races come together, as one and actually do some good, accomplish a lot, all the while, enduring one more day of this wildly crazy life we’ve all been living over the past 10-11 months. To everyone I served with today, to all those whose tears I saw, today was such a privilege, to simply serve others with all of you by my side. • • • COMING NEXT MONTH The staff at The Blues has thought long and hard about taking on another challenge. In the end, we were like “Why not?” So, over the next several months, we’re going to be bringing up some ancient history, as our younger counterparts would say. Though ancient, it is a bit harsh. Starting with Galveston County Sheriff’s Office and Galveston Police Department, we’re going to be embarking upon a trip down memory lane. You see, Galveston, like several other area Agencies, have embarked upon an enormously important mission: to preserve their respective and collective history. We believe, as I’m sure many of you do, where we’ve come from is paramount to not only who we are today but, where we’re going tomorrow!! Please join us in the new adventure! Upcoming Agencies after our premiere presentation include, the Harris County Sheriff’s Office, the Houston Police Department and other area agencies who’ve compiled a spectacular presentation of our local Law Enforcement History. As always, we love and appreciate you and your support!!! The Blues has been around for many years and, God willing, coupled with your continued support, we’ll be around for many, many more. God bless. Stay safe. FT.
