AROUND THE COUNTRYRIVERSIDE COUNTY, CA.Deputy Sheriff Tim Corlew was killed in a motorcycle crash onCA 91 east of La Sierra Avenue in Riverside.RIVERSIDE, CA. – Deputy SheriffTimothy Corlew was killed in amotorcycle crash at 5:30 a.m. onCA 91 east of La Sierra Avenue.While traveling westbound inthe HOV lane, Deputy Corlew’spatrol motorcycle collided witha vehicle, ejecting him from hismotorcycle. He was transportedto Riverside Community Hospitalwhere he was pronounceddeceased.The incident occurred at approximately5:35 a.m. on thewestbound 91 Freeway near LaSierra Avenue in Riverside. DeputyCorlew was operating his patrolmotorcycle in the HOV laneDEPUTY TIMOTHY CORLEWwhen he encountered stoppedtraffic across all lanes. For reasonsstill under investigation,Corlew’s motorcycle collidedwith the rear of a Toyota Lexus.The impact ejected him from themotorcycle, causing him to landon a Hyundai sedan.Paramedics arrived promptlyand transported Deputy Corlewto Riverside Community Hospital,where he was pronounced dead.The driver of the Lexus sustainedminor injuries, while the Hyundai’soccupant was unharmed.The California Highway PatrolDeputy Corlew had servedwith the Riverside County Sheriff’sDepartment for nine years,assigned to the Jurupa ValleySheriff’s Station.34 The BLUES - FEBRUARY ‘25
