AROUND THE COUNTRYNEW

AROUND THE COUNTRYNEW ORLEANS, LA.Did the New Orleans police chief say ‘this was a tragicevent but there is a lot to enjoy...’? WTF is wrong with her?NEW ORLEANS, LA. – The NewOrleans police chief and the FBIagent who held a press conferenceafter a vehicle rammed intoa New Year crowd killing at least10, came under massive fire overtheir lack of clarity about whathappened.Giving an overview of whathappened, New Orleans policechief Anne Kirkpatrick said theevent started at about 3.15 AMand it involved a man drivinga pickup truck down BourbonStreet at a very fast pace and itwas very intentional behavior.“This man was trying to run overas many people as he possiblycould. It was not a DUI situation. This is a more complex and moreserious based on the informationwe have right now,” the policechief said as she confirmed that26 people were injured and 10people killed. “That is why wedo not want anyone on BourbonStreet today,” she added. The perpetrator also fired onpolice officers from the vehicleand those two are in stable condition.“Last night, we had over300 officers here and because ofthe mindset of this perpetrator,he went around our barricadesin order to conduct this. He washellbent on creating the carnageand the damage that he did.Because of the nature and the indicesthat we have on the scene, the FBI will be taking over thisinvestigation,” the police chiefsaid. Then the police chief said shewanted the community and thevisitors to enjoy the city. “There isso much to enjoy about New Orleansand we are going to makesure that our routes in the Superdomeare safe today for the gameand yet we had this tragic eventand we’re sorry again to everyonein our community but we dowant you to go about the day, aswe say, just stay away from Bourbon,”the police chief said addingthat she would not take furtherquestions.X users were shocked that thepolice chief wanted people to goon about their day after 10 peoplewere killed. “Yeah, this was atragic event but the there is a lotto enjoy in New Orleans and wewant you to go about enjoyingyour day,” said the New Orleanspolice chief.
