FROM THE PUBLISHER’S DESKVOL.41 No.2Our Most Significant Issue in 40 YearsThis issue of The BLUES is withouta doubt, the most significantissue we have ever producedin the 40-year history of thismagazine. As I began to writethis column, it began snowing inHouston. That hasn’t happened inover 21 years – last time was December2004. Even Mother Natureknew something had dramaticallychanged in America.THE GOLDEN AGE OFAMERICA BEGINS TODAYFor the past four years, ourcountry had lost its way. Wewere no longer the greatestcountry in the world, but rather alaughingstock around the world.Hell, our commander-in-chiefcouldn’t walk up the stairs to AirForce One, got lost walking fromthe Marine One to the West Wingand had the mental acuity of a10-year-old. This inept administrationcreated a new gender, allowed men in women’s lockerrooms and tried to convince usit was OK to let our kids becometransgender and even offered topay for their surgeries. But all that changed on a coldmorning in Washington DC whenDonald J. Trump became the47th President and proclaimed,“the Golden Age of America beginstoday.” Monday, January 20,2025, will be remembered as theday that America became Americaagain. All the non-sense ofthe past four years just seemedto evaporate with every wordour new President spoke. Andactions are louder than words asPresident Trump began signingExecutive Orders almost immediately.Over 100 in his first day. Ourborder is CLOSED. They are onlyTWO Genders now recognizedin America, Male and Female. No more “pronouns” and othersuch BS, and ICE began roundingup illegals on Day 2. America isback in ways we could have neverimagined. It is truly a new Dayin America.MR PHILANTHROPY HITS-MILLION MARKAlso on our cover is an oldfriend that just keeps on earningthe title, “Mr. Philanthropy,”Alan Helfman. Day after day, yearafter year, he continues to giveback to our First Responders. As of December 2024, he hasraised over -million dollarsfor officers in need in the GreaterHouston area. His generosity andgenuine concern for his brothersand sisters in law enforcement isnever-ending.In fact there isn't a day goesby that someone in law enforcement,a local politician ora sports celebrity, doesn't stopin to his River Oaks car dealership. Some to wheel and dealon a new vehicle, others to justvisit with the MAN himself. Alanand I have been friends for over40 years and his support of TheBLUES dates back to that firstissue in 1984. His commitment toserving his fellow man is whatearned him the titles of "Mr. Humanitarianand Mr. Philanthropy"and it’s an honor to call Alan myfriend.ONE COMMUNITY TRIESTO DEFUND THE POLICE,AND IT ENDS BADLYRemember when “Defund thePolice” was a thing across thecountry? Well one dumb asscity council in a city that shallremain nameless, decided theywere going to fire the entire policedepartment and hire civiliansinstead. Well, this month’sAftermath is a follow-up to that6 The BLUES - FEBRUARY ‘25
Even Mother Nature knew it was a New Day in America, when for the first time in 21 Years,“IT SNOWED IN HOUSTON”failed experiment when one ofthe town’s former officers decidedto record the first 12-hoursof the city’s new alternative topolicing. Follow along as theformer Sgt. takes us call-by-callin the antics of these wanna becops. It would be hilarious if somany innocent citizens hadn’tbeen hurt and even killed thatfirst day. Just FYI, the entire citycouncil was replaced within ayear and all the former copshave been rehired. Truly one ofthe best Aftermath columns inover 40 years.BLUES EDITOR ALMOSTDIES IN CALIFORNIAWILDFIREWe almost lost one of our ownlast month when our creativeeditor Jessica “JJ” Jones barelyescaped death when her Palisadeshome became a victim ofthe raging LA wildfire. In the middleof the night, she awoke tosomeone beating on her door assmoke alarms and alerts on herphone were going off. Her neighborMark, a true hero himself, went door to door in the smallcondo project located on SunsetBlvd. in the Pacific Palisadesof LA, waking up his neighborsand saving them all from certaindeath. Today, that complex isnothing more than a few concretewalls and piles of ash. Allthe residents survived but losteverything they owned includingtheir vehicles. JJ recalls thathorrific night and the followingdays in a heart-wrenching featurestory that took mountainsof courage to write. For the firsttime in her life, JJ is now dealingwith PTSD and says she nowknows what First Respondersdeal with their entire lives. Trulysaved by the Grace of God, wethank our Heavenly Father forwrapping his arms around JJand the other residents of lA thatbarely survived the Hell on Earth.I hope you enjoy this SpecialEdition of The BLUES. It’s anhonor and a privilege to bringyou the Largest Police Magazinein the World and more thanthat, even better to do that as aPROUD AMERICAN under PresidentTrump.
