JAN 2021 Blues Vol 37 No. 1

2021FORD Ford Mustang Mach-E Begs To Become A Police Car Last year, Ford finally lifted the wraps off the much-anticipated 2021 Mustang Mach E SUV. Inevitably, it hasn’t taken long for talented render artists to envision other variants of Ford’s first-ever electric SUV. This render designed by Aksyonov Nikita, for example, shows what the Ford Mustang Mach-E would look like as an electric police cruiser. While Ford already builds a police version of the Explorer called the Ford Police Interceptor Utility, this hypothetical Ford Mustang Mach-E police SUV looks more intimidating with its muscular body and a front-mounted bull bar perfect for performing PIT maneuvers. Flashing blue and red lights on the roof, spotlights mounted on Despite its humble Ford Escape underpinnings, the new 2021 Ford Bronco Sport is a promising entrant in the unibody off-road utility vehicle segment, with all the makings of a properly rugged, capable crossover. Allwheel drive is fitted as standard, with specially tuned performance drive modes suitable for a range of different terrain types, and its unique suspension gives it significantly more travel than the Escape, with 0.8 inches of added track width. Besides all that, the 2021 Ford the A-pillars, new wheels, and a traditional black and white police livery complete the look. If you saw one of these police SUVs stalking your rear-view mirror, you would pull over without hesitation. With two electric motors producing around 459 hp and 612 lb-ft of torque resulting in a 0-62 mph time of 3.5 seconds in the range-topping GT Performance model, the Ford Mustang Mach-E Police Interceptor would have no trouble keeping up with fleeing criminals, so good luck trying to outrun it. With an extended-range battery, the rearwheel-drive Mustang Mach-E will last around 300 miles on a single charge before running out of juice. Ford Bronco Sport Looks Great as Police Interceptor Bronco Sport certainly looks the part, with a boxy, square-jawed design language that borrows from the regular body-on-frame Bronco. And that's gotten one artist wondering: what would the new Bronco Sport look like as a butch, go-anywhere police This is the Ford Bronco Sport Police Interceptor Utility, as imagined by Russian designer Aksyonov Nikita. To make it, Nikita essentially took the civilian version of the unibody off-roader and sat it on a set of classic-looking black-and-chrome wheels borrowed from the Ford Explorer Police Interceptor Utility, plastered it with a convincing law enforcement livery, and rendered with a full set of standard police lights and a tough-looking push bar. To be clear, this vehicle doesn't actually exist outside the digital realm; it's just an artist's rendering from an artist by the name of Aksyonov Nikita. But it shows what's possible should Ford decide to start selling the new Bronco Sport to US law enforcement agencies. 2021 Ford Mustang E Concept 2021 Ford Police Interceptor Utility 2021 Ford Bronco Interceptor Utility Concept 2021 Ford F-150 Police Responder 58 The BLUES POLICE MAGAZINE The BLUES POLICE MAGAZINE 59
