Officer calls for backup

Officer calls for backup while dozens of party goers jump on his patrol car. Angry Mob Trap St. Louis Officer Inside Patrol Car After Responding to Complaints St. Louis city officials say a group of partygoers jumped on and substantially damaged a police patrol vehicle while an officer was trapped inside early Sunday morning. A police spokesperson told Fox2 the department received a total of 13 calls around 2:30 a.m. Sunday morning for a large party on the top floor of an apartment building. Police claim as the responding officers attempted to disband the crowd of more than 100 people, they began to congregate outside the building. The officer inside was reportedly not injured. The mob was dispersed when backup officers arrived. Mayor Tishaura Jones said in a tweet Monday, “While I’m thankful the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department responded quickly and dispersed the crowd without conflict of injury, I’m disappointed in those people who will now have to face consequences for their behavior.” The police department is now asking for the public to help them identify anyone in the videos the department released or in other social media posts. Multiple federal and state law enforcement agencies including the FBI and ATF joined the search before Boykin was found in a wooded area about 600 yards from the bank, according to WLBT. The outlet published the photo of Boykin - who’s smiling - flanked by four armed officers and three police dogs. The image immediately sparked backlash on social media as critics slammed the officers for turning the serious ordeal into a silly photo-op. get your FREE SUBSCRIPTION to The BLUES, scan the QR code or click here. 32 The BLUES POLICE MAGAZINE The BLUES POLICE MAGAZINE 33
