AROUND THE COUNTRY HENDRICKS COUNTY, IN. Deputy Fred Fislar, with the Hendricks County Sheriff’s Office, was electrocuted when he came in contact with live wires while investigating a crash. DANVILLE, IN. — Funeral arrangements have been made for Hendricks County Sheriff’s Deputy Fred Fislar, who died in the line of duty April 16. Visitation and funeral services were held Sunday, April 21 at Cloverdale High School. The Hendricks County Sheriff’s Office said there was not a traditional law enforcement vehicle procession, at the request of Fislar’s family. A private burial followed the funeral service. Fislar died from injuries he received while responding to a crash on State Road 267, north of Plainfield. According to investigators, the deputy came in contact with live electrical lines while trying to provide aid to the driver in the crash. He is survived by his wife, Maddy, and their two young children, a 6-year-old boy and 6-monthold girl. Fislar is a graduate of Cloverdale High School. The Hendricks County Sheriff’s Office has established a fund to make donations to Fislar’s wife and his two young children. Donations may be made online here or by mailing a check to the Central Indiana Police Foundation at 1525 Shelby St., Indianapolis, IN 46203.
